Preferred Sands Focuses Attention on Providing Innovative, Cost-Effective Technologies to the Canadian Market

Leading proppant technology company announces two new hires to lead its strategic efforts and growing Canadian terminal network

RADNOR, Pa.--()--Preferred Sands, one of North America’s leading proppant technology companies, announced today that it is expanding its services in the Canadian market. Preferred’s added focus on the Canadian market will provide customers with greater access to innovative and sustainable technologies at the lowest distribution cost possible.

Preferred’s long line of pioneering technologies available to the Canadian market will include DustPRO™, the first preventative and cost-effective treated sand solution designed to reduce airborne particles during all sand transfer points, and Preferred’s Polymeric Proppants, the most advanced downhole coated proppant technology designed to increase production efficiency by providing flowback protection and eliminating embedment.

To lead the charge, Preferred hired industry veteran Neil Garritty as Director of Sales, Canada, and Todd Fedoruk as Regional Sales Manager, Canadian Basins.

Garritty joins Preferred Sands with more than 15 years of proven sales and management experience and a background in the oil and gas industry in Canada. His superior communication, negotiation and organizational skills – and a demonstrated ability to sell at all organizational levels – make him an excellent fit to service Preferred’s growing Canadian presence.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Preferred Sands at a time where there is such a large focus on the Canadian marketplace,” said Garritty. “I look forward to substantially growing our Canadian terminal network and I’m confident in our ability to provide cost-effective technologies to drilling companies in the WCSB.”

Joining Garritty will be Todd Fedoruk, a native of Redwater, Alberta. Prior to joining Preferred Sands, Fedoruk enjoyed a successful 10 year career in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Arizona Coyotes, and Tampa Bay Lighting. Since retiring from the NHL, he’s remained involved with the Philadelphia Flyers organization through the charitable arm of the franchise, Flyers Charities, and currently serves as president of the board of the Flyers alumni association.

“When an opportunity came to join a company like Preferred Sands, which prides itself on industry leading, innovative technologies for increased performance in oil and gas recovery, it wasn't a hard decision. As a native Albertan, the oil patch is all too familiar to me,” said Fedoruk.

“Neil and Todd are two exceptional leaders and we’re thrilled to have them on our team. With close ties to Canada, each of them understands the importance of serving the Canadian market with the best technologies at the lowest costs,” said Michael O’Neill, founder and CEO of Preferred Sands.

At a time when well-site optimization is becoming an increased priority in Canada and throughout North America, Preferred Sands continues to develop state-of-the-art, cost-effective technologies to better serve its growing customer base.
