Quartet Health Hires Dr. David Wennberg to Advance Analytics Capabilities

NEW YORK--()--Quartet Health, a healthcare technology company partnering with health plans and providers to improve the integration of behavioral and medical care, welcomes David Wennberg, M.D. to the company’s executive team, adding to the roster of healthcare, behavioral health and technology veterans.

“Dr. Wennberg pioneered several groundbreaking healthcare concepts, such as unwarranted practice pattern variation and shared decision-making, that have made an enormous impact on today’s healthcare landscape,” said Arun Gupta, Quartet’s Chief Executive Officer. “His proven leadership and expertise in the use of data to solve some of healthcare’s most challenging problems will be a tremendous asset to our team.”

Prior to joining the company, Dr. Wennberg was Founder of Health Dialog Analytic Solutions and key member of Health Dialog’s senior management team, serving over his tenure as Chief Science Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer of the company’s Data Services Group, as well as Chief Science Advisor to Health Dialog’s parent company Bupa Group. Health Dialog was one of the healthcare industry’s pioneering population health services organizations. Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Northern New England Accountable Care Collaborative, which supported leading ACOs in their journey from fee-for-service to value based care through advanced SaaS and DaaS solutions. Dr. Wennberg is published extensively in top journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Dr. Wennberg invested in Quartet Health’s Series A round, led by Annie Lamont at Oak HC/FT, and decided to join the management team to lead Data Science and Analytics. “Quartet Health is tackling one of the big challenges in health care delivery. I see a significant opportunity to apply some of the principles of shared decision-making and unwarranted practice pattern variation to the behavioral health space,” says Dr. Wennberg. “Having witnessed the progress Quartet has made on product development, data science, and customer partnerships, I am thrilled to join the operating team.”

Quartet has built a comprehensive data engine that generates advanced insights on populations with behavioral health conditions and concomitant physical health conditions. The company uses this data engine to power its cloud-based platform that enables better collaboration between medical providers and behavioral health providers. “The company's traction in the market is undeniable and we believe we are onto something that will really improve the lives of patients suffering from mental illnesses,” says Annie Lamont of Oak HC/FT. “I'm proud to partner with David again after our successful run building Health Dialog together."

Quartet Health was launched in 2014 and is currently partnered with several leading health plan and provider organizations across the country.
