State and Local Governments Broaden Use of Tyler Technologies’ Odyssey Solution, Accelerating Move to Integrated Justice

Tyler’s EverGuide initiative helps clients more rapidly deliver benefits to staff, justice partners and residents

PLANO, Texas--()--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) reports that clients using its Odyssey® courts and justice solution are rapidly deploying additional Odyssey functions. As a result, there has been rapid improvement in the justice system’s efficiency and significant return on investment stemming from the many benefits that an online, digital model brings to justice partners and the communities and residents they serve.

Tyler’s capacity to manage dozens of Odyssey client implementations concurrently and successfully has allowed it to accommodate the significant surge in new Odyssey clients during the past five years. Most recently, large numbers of clients have been leveraging Tyler’s EverGuide™ initiative by adding incremental functionality after their initial go-live — such as e-filing, e-signatures, electronic workflows, and Odyssey SessionWorks® Judge Edition. EverGuide allows an organization to pace its transformation according to its ability to absorb change, thereby greatly reducing project risks and increasing client success rates.

Tyler also has a growing number of clients expanding Odyssey implementations to include automation of their jail, prosecuting attorneys and public defense offices.

“With EverGuide, we’re helping clients move up the electronic court maturity model, allowing each client to create a custom plan for eliminating paper from their court,” said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “We are also pleased to see a growing number of clients realizing the benefits of an integrated justice solution by adding Odyssey Jail Manager and Odyssey Attorney Manager to their deployments.”

Existing Tyler clients are adding functionalities including:

  • The Odyssey File & Serve™ platform that enables documents to be filed, served, distributed and delivered electronically.
  • Odyssey SessionWorks Judge and Clerk editions that present case information on the bench via touch-screen technology.
  • Odyssey Attorney Manager™ and Odyssey Jail Manager™, which help courts operate more efficiently and effectively with justice partners.
  • Odyssey Workflows & Task Management™ functionality that allows custom workflows to be defined, thereby enhancing the efficiency of business processes and electronic document management.

An excellent example of clients advancing their services and efficiency through the EverGuide initiative is the Minnesota Judicial Branch. Through its eCourtMN vision and partnership with Tyler, Minnesota courts and its partners expect to operate in an electronic information environment, ensuring convenient, timely and appropriate access to court information for all stakeholders while enhancing the productivity of court processes. The court will share its experience and accomplishments during a presentation on Sept. 23 at the 2015 Court Technology Conference in Minneapolis.
