SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Philo, a next-generation TV platform, today announced that it has launched at 15 new universities providing live TV and DVR service to residential students on any device. Philo’s roster of more than 40 universities now includes Clemson University, University of Houston, University of North Carolina Asheville, University of South Florida, University of Texas El Paso, University of Utah, Virginia Commonwealth University, Washington State University, and more.
These new schools join Philo’s current line-up of highly regarded universities, which includes Harvard University, Brown University, University of Alabama, Lubbock Christian University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Washington.

Philo is also launching a redesign of their Roku app, which includes a significant visual design overhaul with enhanced search and DVR functionality. The Roku redesign joins recent enhancements to Philo’s web, iOS and Android apps including the ability to search across shows, movies, and channels; a home page that displays recent DVR recordings, shows that are trending near users, and upcoming popular shows; a new channel guide in both a grid and guide view for easier live TV viewing; and an enhanced DVR interface.
