Klick CEO Leerom Segal Appointed to Google Health Advisory Board

Entrepreneur emphasizes commitment to shaping the future of digital health

TORONTO--()--Klick Health today proudly confirmed that its Co-founder and CEO Leerom Segal has been appointed to the Google Health Advisory Board.

Ryan Olohan, national industry director, healthcare at Google said, “Leerom has long demonstrated that he is at the forefront of digital health with a level of empathy and creative bravado that is taking the industry in exciting, new directions. We are excited to have him on the Google Health Advisory Board and are confident he will bring a distinct perspective to the Board.”

"I’m honored to join the Google Health Advisory Board and work with such an esteemed group of experts as healthcare continues to be driven by digital technologies as much as it is by biotechnologies,” said Segal. “There’s tremendous synergy within our shared cultures as we focus on offering creative technology in healthcare to enhance the patient experience.”

Segal joins an accomplished group of healthcare thought leaders on the Board as they work with Google to help health information seekers make more empowered and informed healthcare decisions, better understand the problems consumers and providers face and offer feedback on product ideas and development. Established in 2013, the board of pharmaceutical, media and agency leaders also discusses the changing healthcare landscape, implications of health reform, the empowered consumer, the digital doctor, and other industry opportunities.

Named one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in Health for four consecutive years, Segal recently served as Chief Curator and Co-Chair of the inaugural Klick Ideas Exchange. The event was held as a precursor to the BIO International Convention, bringing together some of the biggest thinkers in health and business and the nation’s leading pharma and biotech CEOs to explore how emerging technologies and data can radically change the way health care is delivered and how health care companies work. Speakers included Drs. Eric Topol, Ezekiel Emanuel, and Daniel Kraft, and acclaimed business management gurus Tom Peters and Gary Hamel.

In the last year, Segal was also named an EY 2014 Media & Technology Entrepreneur of the Year and Medical Marketing & Media magazine’s Agency Marketer of the Year (Gold Award). He is a New York Times bestselling author who has spoken at TEDGlobal, Harvard University, Google, Twitter, and the Cannes Lions Health Creativity Festival.

Known for his unconventional approach to business, Segal launched his first company at age 12, sold his first business when he was 14, was named CTO of publicly traded Motion Works Group by the time he was 16, and co-founded Klick in 1997 at the age of 17. He was inducted into PROFIT Magazine's Hall of Fame as the Youngest CEO ever to lead a Profit 100 company.
