To mark the occasion, iTalent and the Mayor of San Jose, Sam Liccardo, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Other attendees included San Jose's City Council members Johnny Khamis (District 10), Ash Kalra (District 2), representatives from the office of Council member Magdelena Carrasco, Council member Raul Peralez, and Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Cindy Chavez. Also in attendance was the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley Board of Directors Lori Ramos-Ehrlich and Monica Amador, COO of El Observador Newspaper, along with iTalent's partners, leaders and employees.
“As we looked to iTalent’s future, we wanted to be a part of mayor’s effort to revitalize downtown San Jose and bring additional tech jobs to the area,” said Renee La Londe, iTalent Founder & CEO. “In addition, we want to be an active, engaged community partner with the City of San Jose.” To that end, Ms. La Londe presented Mayor Liccardo a corporate gift to help address the City’s homeless crisis, a top priority for the Mayor and the city.
The building is strategically positioned near iTalent’s core customers as well as the economic development activity taking place in the immediate area. Besides being neighbors to the new family courthouse opening later this year, iTalent is also joining Barry Swenson Builders who is building the $150M mixed-use high rise Park View Towers. iTalent is committed to working with the City of San Jose and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley in bolstering the return of tech to downtown San Jose and creating positive community impact to an area of the city experiencing significant transformation.
