Rdio Introduces “Promoted Music Experiences” to Connect Brands with Music Fans

New Native Ad Solution Launches with Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos as First Brand Partner

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Rdio, a leading global music streaming service available in 85 countries, today launches Promoted Music Experiences (PMEs) – a unique native advertising solution that seamlessly connects brands with music fans through Rdio’s personalized listener experience. To launch PMEs, Rdio has partnered with Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos – the global hotel brand committed to offering authentic experiences that rock.

The PMEs package inspires listener engagement with brands by natively tapping into three of Rdio’s core features:

  • Branded Stations: Rdio’s in-house curation team will collaborate with advertising partners to create a station featuring songs that exemplify a brand’s personality and voice. The branded stations will be spotlighted to Rdio listeners and will be available on both the free, ad-supported streaming radio service and paid subscriptions.
  • Branded Profiles: Advertising partners will have the ability to customize their own branded profiles which will display featured content developed in collaboration with Rdio’s team of curators. The branded profiles will be promoted to Rdio listeners and will be available on both the free, ad-supported streaming radio service and paid subscriptions.
  • Branded Home Stories: Curated stations, custom artwork and company information will be integrated into Home, Rdio’s personalized feed of music recommendations, and will be promoted to listeners on the free, ad-supported service.

Through the use of curation and native promotional placement, the Rdio PMEs program provides advertisers with a number of opportunities to use Rdio’s catalog of over 35 million songs to communicate their brand voice to music fans around the world.

“We are dedicated to offering advertising solutions that help brands expand their reach without detracting from the Rdio listener experience,” said Jared Heiman, Head of Global Ad Sales, Rdio. “With PMEs, brands now have the unique opportunity to use music streaming and music discovery to connect with consumers.”

“Hard Rock has a long history of supporting the evolution of the music industry,” said Matt Watts, Director of Music & Marketing, Hotels & Casinos at Hard Rock International. “We look forward to joining forces with Rdio to enhance the way our guests consume music.”

The Hard Rock branded station will offer fans an expertly designed space for a variety of listening experiences, from stations carefully curated to highlight emerging artists and tunes that reflect different destinations to unique sounds from around the globe. Curated by Hard Rock’s team of VIBE managers and music experts, the branded page will serve as a central music hub where fans can connect with the brand from anywhere at any time.

The Rdio and Hard Rock Promoted Music Experiences partnership is part of a yearlong agreement between the two brands with additional corporate partners to be announced.
