ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Opower (NYSE: OPWR), the global leader in cloud-based software for the utility industry, today announced the opening of a new office in San Francisco to accommodate the company’s significant growth and to focus on hiring top talent in the Bay Area.

Opower first opened its San Francisco office in May 2012. Since then, the company’s staff in the Bay Area has grown by nearly 150 percent and includes significant numbers of the company’s engineering, product development and client success teams.
The new SoMa office is 34,000 square feet, about 10,000 square feet larger than the company’s previous San Francisco location. The building is certified LEED Platinum, the highest level of the USGBC’s sustainable building certification - despite the fact that the original building was built in 1964.
