PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RES Software, the leader in digital workspace technology that increases workforce productivity and reduces desktop costs, today announced the hiring of Perry Smith, a software industry veteran, to the role of Senior Vice President of Engineering to fulfill the needs of the company’s rapidly growing customer base.
“We’ve passed some incredible milestones this year,” said Al Monserrat, Chief Executive Officer of RES. “We’ve launched our updated RES ONE Suite of products, and we were recently selected as a key component of a three quarters of a million seat implementation – one of the largest and most transformational architectures in our industry’s history. The advances this company is making in technology innovation and business, and our ability to keep ahead of the fast-changing dynamics of the agile workspace, are an amazing success story that is enabling us to attract one of the strongest engineering talents.”
The RES R&D team will be managed directly by Perry Smith, who reports to CEO Al Monserrat. This change also enables Bob Janssen, Founder and CTO of RES, to lead a new innovation team that has been formed to focus on the next generation of RES solutions, as well as researching emerging industry trends and technologies.
“When Bob and Al first approached me about a role at RES, I was immediately interested,” said Perry Smith. “I had seen Gartner’s recent announcement of the ‘Cool Vendor award’ for RES and, after meeting with this company’s leadership, I knew I had to become a part of their team and their vision. This is an amazing time for all of us and I’m proud to be here. I look forward to getting to know RES customers and team members – and to continuing this company’s progress in delivering the value that makes our customers more successful.”
Throughout his career Mr. Smith has been a hands-on entrepreneurial software executive who has led startups of his own, as well as achieved success in propelling established companies to new levels of customer value and business performance. He has led rapidly growing engineering teams in a career that has spanned McAfee, Kana, Agilysys and Kewill. He holds a master’s degree from Stanford University and currently lives in Boston, Mass.
“Our company was founded on the spirit of innovation,” said Bob Janssen, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of RES. “I look forward to driving an intensely focused research effort on our future products, as well as new technologies to introduce to our customers.”
RES Software provides technology that enables the digital workspace for today’s more agile workers, so technology is better able to support the workforce in driving an improved customer experience and meeting strategic business goals, while keeping intellectual property and data more secure.
