New York City Cyber Security Summit Set to Take Place September 18

One-Day Summit Provides Intimate Forum for Connecting with Industry Thought Leaders and Viewing the Latest Cyber Security Solutions

NEW YORK--()--TECHEXPO today announced that its annual New York City Cyber Security Summit will take place on Friday, September 18 from 9:00am to 6:00pm at the Millennium Broadway Hotel (145 West 44th Street). The NYC Cyber Security Summit is part of an exclusive conference series that connects senior level executives with innovative solution providers and renowned information security experts. This one-day educational and informational forum will focus on educating attendees on how to best protect highly vulnerable business applications and critical infrastructure.

The event is limited to just 300 executives and 35 sponsors. This ensures that all participants have the opportunity to make connections with the speakers and meet with the nation’s leading solution providers to discover their latest products and services for enterprise cyber defense. Attendees will have access to the distinguished panel discussions, meetings with event sponsors and exhibitors as well as a catered lunch and champagne networking reception at the end of the day.

Palo Alto Networks® (NYSE: PANW) will showcase its security platform that brings together all key network security functions, including advanced threat protection, firewall, IDS/IPS, and URL filtering. Because these functions are natively-built into the platform and share important information across the respective disciplines, it ensures better security than legacy firewalls, UTMs, or point threat detection products. Other vendors showcasing solutions include Covata, DarkTrace, EndGame, LogRhythm, Verisign, and Raytheon/WebSense. For a full list of vendors participating in the technology showcase click here.

There must be an alignment of interests among those who face direct civil (C-Suites & Board Members) liability for failure to supervise and implement the proper Cyber Security precautions within their organization. This panel will discuss the ever-growing critical relationship and its importance to at least minimize potential damage to their brand’s reputation and or face regulatory fines/punishment for not properly safeguarding the company’s proprietary information.

This discussion will cover the known, the immeasurable and the unknown costs associated with a data breach and/or related cyber incident. Also discussed is the invaluable lesson learned of the critical importance of having a written & battle-tested IRP / Incident Response Plan along with a capable IRT / Incident Response Team in place when, not if, a cyber attack occurs. Also discussed is the role that cyber insurance and / or “tailored” legal / consulting advice is used in controlling for and potentially reducing liability costs?

  • 12:30pm    Networking lunch and briefing by Trent Telford, Founder and CEO, Covata Limited
  • 2:00pm    Corporate Espionage and Insider Threat – Monitoring Outlier Behavior that Indicates Malicious Intent

Insider threat has been synonymous of late with terms such as breach, data leakage and a host of cyber security implications often aimed at the consumer. While personnel files, social security numbers, credit cards, and PII are often the target of attacks, corporations are now watching much more! What happens when a fast riser or even an uninspired employee decides to go to a competitor or launch his or her own endeavor? What data, clients or even personnel are they exfiltrating on the way out? How would you know? There are many identifiers and triggers that often go undetected. Insiders know how to go unnoticed (slow and low), just as malware finds its way through layers and layers of defenses. How do we defend against corporate espionage? What are the implications? What are the signs?

  • 4:00pm   Pre-Set Business Meetings, Open Networking & Champagne Reception
