Don Painter Accelerates The Build Out of Marakon’s Offering in the Oil and Gas Sector

Mr. Painter has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, especially related to operations capability and performance transformation. His extensive international experience includes advising all of the leading oil and gas industry super major international oil companies (IOCs), the world’s largest national oil companies (NOCs), leading oilfield services and equipment (OFSE) companies, and more than 35 leading IOCs and international chemical companies (ICCs).

Mr. Painter’s experience spans business, market entry, and operating strategy development and execution, restructuring, and performance transformation programs in leadership, business architecture, and program implementation roles. His areas of oil and gas functional expertise include asset development, field and facilities production operations, well delivery and work over, asset integrity, maintenance and reliability, capital efficiency, and project risk management, as well as direct and indirect supply chain and logistics optimization in both the upstream and downstream segments.

Most recently, he was a senior member of McKinsey & Company’s Global Oil and Gas practice, as well as its Global Asset Productivity, Capital Productivity, and Business Technology service lines. His industry career also includes leadership roles in operations and business planning at Exxon Mobil, as well as client and practice development leadership roles within the Global Energy, Chemicals, Utilities, and Materials practices at Accenture, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Schlumberger.

Mr. Painter’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and MBA studies from the University of Houston. He is an active member of several professional associations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
