LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A.M. Best is pleased to announce that Yvette Essen has been appointed Director of Research & Communications – EMEA.
Essen is currently director of research, based in A.M. Best’s London office, and will continue to report to Nick Charteris-Black, managing director, market development – EMEA. In addition to overseeing the publication of A.M. Best’s research in EMEA, Essen will also be responsible for A.M. Best’s communication strategy in the region. She will work closely with Edem Kuenyehia, Associate Director, Market Development & Communications in London and Jim Peavy, Assistant Vice President, Public Relations in Oldwick, both of whom continue to be key contacts for the company’s global media relations.
Essen joined A.M. Best in May 2009 with responsibilities for the production of Best’s Special Reports and Best’s Briefings from the London and Hong Kong offices. She has vast experience working in the media, having completed a postgraduate diploma in journalism at Cardiff University, been the senior London Market reporter at Insurance Times and spent seven years as the insurance, pensions and stock market reporter and deputy editor of the shares tipping column at the Daily Telegraph.
Essen is a graduate of University College London and was previously named the Association of British Insurers’ Insurance Journalist of the Year and won the Journalist of the Year accolade at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) awards.
