Victorious Announces Elite New Hires Across Breadth of Business

Most-Watched Startup Brings Bevy of Bay Area Talent to LA to Drive Continued Growth of Mobile Platform

LOS ANGELES--()--Victorious, the mobile platform that powers superfan communities for the world’s biggest creators, today announces significant new hires that add media and technology leadership muscle across many functions of the organization. Advising on scaling and diversifying the platform, online video pioneer and former YouTube executive Shishir Mehrotra joins the Victorious Board of Directors.

“Shishir is accurately regarded as one of the most knowledgeable people in digital content and technology. We are thrilled to collaborate with him,” commented Sam Rogoway, CEO of Victorious. “With his deep understanding of how technology can empower creators and their superfans, Victorious benefits tremendously from being able to tap into Shishir's expertise across Product, Engineering, and Business to help us scale our platform."

Revered as one of the leading technologists in online video, in his former role as Head of Product and Engineering at YouTube, Shishir oversaw the product management, engineering and user experience teams.

“Passionate communities have always intrigued me. Superfans engage with content differently than casual fans, express themselves through their own premium content, and are the lifeblood of creators and creative communities,” remarked Mehrotra. “It’s been rewarding to see something I’ve cared about so deeply for years—passionate communities—emerge on Victorious as the start of a next generation passion platform."

Transforming Los Angeles into a leading hub for technology leaders, additional top tier talent from the tech sector has joined Victorious in their Santa Monica office.

  • Julia Tang, VP of Marketing (formerly Head of Product Marketing for Instagram). Responsible for consumer acquisition, product launches, and branding at Victorious, Julia brings strategic expertise cultivating beloved technology brands, including Instagram and Facebook.
  • Kathleen Hahn, VP of Strategy and Partnerships (former YouTube Head of West Coast MCN Partnerships). With over 15 years of experience in strategy and business development, Kathleen leads the creative partnerships team at Victorious, which is geared to ignite the Victorious platform and drive creator engagement and growth.
  • Tony Zameczkowski, VP & Managing Director, International (Former Director, YouTube Asia Pacific) Tapping into the massive social network audiences around the globe, Tony joins Victorious with more than 15 years of experience in online media, and will lead the company’s international initiatives.

With these strategic new hires, Victorious has harnessed the best and the brightest to drive the technology, brand and community facets of the company. Since its April 2015 launch, Victorious now works with creators that account for 350M superfans. Victorious has already shepherded four of its apps to the top 10 in the app stores, including YouTube personality Ryan Higa’s TeeHee, Lilly Singh’s Unicorn Island, gaming content mecca, Machinima, and fashion-forward experience, Clothes Encounters.
