LINCOLN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Athena Capital Advisors, a registered investment advisor providing investment management, advisory, and external CIO services to private clients and institutions, today announced the promotion of David Lynch to President of Athena. Concurrently, Melissa Mattison was elevated to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Both appointments became effective on July 1, 2015.
Lynch has been with Athena since 2004. A Managing Partner, Lynch is also the Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Athena, a role he will continue to occupy. He joined Athena from Colorado PERA, where he was the portfolio manager for emerging markets fixed income.
Mattison, meanwhile, joined Athena in 2007 and most recently served as Vice President, Strategic Solutions. Mattison came to Athena from Fidelity Investments, where she served in the global equity-trading group as a buy-side institutional equity trader.
In the role of President, Lynch is succeeding Leonard Lewin. Lewin, who was appointed to Athena’s Board of Directors and named the Vice Chairman, will also maintain a hands-on role as General Counsel and serves in a senior client-facing capacity.
