NephroGenex, Inc. Announces Closing of Public Offering of Common Stock and Warrants

RALEIGH, N.C.--()--NephroGenex, Inc. (Nasdaq:NRX), a pharmaceutical company focused on the development of therapeutics to treat kidney disease, today announced the closing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 1,500,000 shares of common stock, and warrants to purchase an aggregate of 1,500,000 shares of common stock at an exercise price of $6.25 per share. The underwriters also exercised their over-allotment option to purchase warrants to purchase an aggregate of 225,000 shares of common stock. The warrants are immediately exercisable and expire on July 22, 2020. The shares of common stock and warrants are immediately separable and will be issued separately.

The net proceeds to NephroGenex are expected to be approximately $6.6 million, assuming no exercise of the warrants and after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses payable by NephroGenex.

Aegis Capital Corp. is acting as sole book-running manager for the offering.

NephroGenex intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for working capital and general corporate purposes.
