BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--iBasis, a KPN company, today announced that Ireland’s largest telecommunications operator eircom has connected to the iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange (LSX) for LTE Roaming Services. With this new agreement, iBasis is now providing eircom with a full, secure and scalable roaming solution for 3G and 4G services. By migrating to a single IP infrastructure, the iBasis global multiservice IPX will carry multiple services including GRX, covering both 2G/3G and LTE data roaming, as well as LTE Signaling service for the exchange of Diameter signaling between LTE networks through the iBasis LSX.
The iBasis LSX leverages iBasis’ multiservice IPX network and provides access to more than 175 networks in 80 countries. The IPX infrastructure offers eircom a single point of contact, greatly simplifying and speeding service launches and capacity increases.
Designed to provide multi-service continuity in the transition to all-IP, the iBasis IPX assigns differentiated classes of service quality to specific services and guarantees end-to-end quality of service regardless of traffic types. This will enable eircom to offer its subscribers the full range of LTE roaming services, and the company’s mobile subscribers will enjoy the high performance level and high quality of LTE while roaming abroad.
