Beyond and Udemy Partner to Help Job Candidates Through Online Learning

Addition of on-demand online courses to help job seekers expand skill sets

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. & SAN FRANCISCO--()--Beyond, The Career Network, and Udemy, the leading marketplace for online learning, today announced a partnership that will combine Beyond’s career development tools with Udemy’s online skills-based courses. This partnership is designed to help Beyond’s members, at any stage in their career, develop and acquire skills to improve their opportunity for upward mobility with employers seeking top talent.

HR professionals continue to face the challenge of trying to find job applicants with relevant skills, and job seekers struggle to acquire the necessary abilities to apply for the jobs they want. According to a national survey, conducted by Beyond, of nearly 4,000 job seekers and HR professionals, 75% of HR respondents said they had trouble filling open positions because too many candidates were unqualified. The survey also found that 69% of HR professionals evaluate an applicant’s resume for technical skills first. Beyond and Udemy’s partnership will help job seekers acquire the skills they need so they can apply for the jobs they want, resulting in more qualified job applicants for HR professionals to consider.

“Training and education are what fuel a successful career, and we wanted to provide job seekers with a way to acquire the necessary skills and experience to attain their goals,” said Rich Milgram, Founder and CEO of Beyond. “By partnering with Udemy, our 45 million members now have an affordable and efficient way to strengthen and expand on their skill set so they can stand out in the job market.”

This partnership provides Beyond’s millions of users with the ability to take Udemy’s 30,000 online courses. Having access to this on-demand content on the most sought-after business and technology subjects will give Beyond’s members a distinct advantage in the employment market, as they are able to seamlessly attain and develop the practical skills demanded by employers in a competitive market.

“The dynamics of today’s rapidly changing job market increasingly require people to master discrete skills on an ongoing basis,” says Rich Qiu, Vice President of Business Development at Udemy. “We are delighted to work with Beyond to provide jobseekers with the flexible, skill-based online learning platform to develop the skills they need to thrive in the modern workforce.”

While Udemy’s learning marketplace is integrated with several international job sites, this partnership with Beyond is the first of its kind to launch in the U.S. The partnership comes on the heels of rapid momentum for Udemy, as the company’s instructor community now includes more than 16,000 experts in business, technology, and the arts, and their courses are designed to share their expertise with more than 7 million students worldwide. Through its Udemy for Business offering, Udemy has already partnered with more than 200 companies to provide cutting-edge corporate training for their employees. Last month, Udemy secured $65 million in funding to continue pioneering a global education marketplace and empower people to pursue their ambitions.
