Intellectual Property Counsel David Shofi Joins CPA Global as Vice President, IP Strategy Solutions

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--()--CPA Global, the world's leading provider of intellectual property (IP) management, software and services, has appointed David Shofi as Vice President, IP Strategy Solutions.

Shofi, an IP attorney, has over 20 years of experience in the intellectual property industry. Having managed all aspects of the IP lifecycle, Shofi will assist CPA Global’s clients to identify opportunities for cost savings, improved efficiencies and greater return on investment in their IP legal and business functions. This will include the analysis of processes and technology for innovation development, IP portfolio management and IP litigation/monetization.

Before joining CPA Global, Shofi was Chief IP Counsel at the global semiconductor and life sciences corporation, ATMI (now part of Entegris). During his eight years at ATMI, he transformed the IP function throughout the organization, increasing productivity and sharpening capabilities while significantly cutting costs. Shofi also spent eight years as IP counsel at IBM handling leading edge IP concepts such as software standards, open source software and IP due diligence. Before that, he was an associate at the law firm, Baker Botts. Shofi has a degree from Columbia University in Electrical Engineering and received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Pace University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Connecticut and is a registered patent attorney practicing before the U.S. Patent Office.
