OAKDALE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Imation (NYSE:IMN), a global data storage and information security company, today announced the results of a recent Imation and TechValidate™ survey of more than 300 IT end users around the world. While the survey shows that 70 percent of organizations have corporate policies governing where high-value data should be stored, and 69 percent of organizations have a solution in place for storing high-value data, 55 percent of respondents said they are “unsure” or “not confident at all” that their organization’s files are being backed up.
In addition, according to the survey, three of the four most common file types in organizations’ data centers are office productivity documents, images and rich media – or unstructured data sets, the kind of data most commonly considered to be high-value data and that is contributing to most of the data growth in today’s data centers.
