Wave Launches Residential Gigabit Internet Service in San Francisco

KIRKLAND, Wash.--()--Wave (www.wavebroadband.com), a gigabit fiber and broadband services company, today announced the launch of its Wave-G gigabit service in the San Francisco Bay Area. Wave-G symmetrical gigabit and 100 Mbps internet service is now live and available at San Francisco’s NEMA, a 750-unit property in the city’s Mid-Market neighborhood.

Wave has provided gigabit service since 2008 to thousands of Seattle-area residents under the CondoInternet brand and plans to expand its gigabit offerings in San Francisco to other apartments and condos in the coming months. It is offering its gigabit service for a promotional rate of $80 per month.

Wave recently announced a $130 million financing to accelerate the expansion of its fiber network in California, Oregon, and Washington. Since acquiring CondoInternet in September 2013, Wave has invested heavily in expanding its gigabit service by building out its fiber network, hiring additional staff and taking other measures to improve and expand its infrastructure. CondoInternet has provided gigabit internet service in Seattle since 2008 and has passed more than 20,000 area homes.

“As a company that has provided robust and reliable gigabit service to tens of thousands of consumers for the past six years, we are excited to extend our gigabit offerings to San Francisco for the first time, especially in a premier development like NEMA,” said John van Oppen, SVP of CondoInternet and Wave. “We look forward to bringing our high performance gigabit service to Bay Area residents who expect a leading customer experience at home as well as at work.”
