No One Beats Sprint for Overall Network Performance in Austin, Texas

Network improves daily making it a great time to switch to Sprint

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Sprint today announced that its network in Austin, Texas, received shared 1st place ranking for overall performance, reliability and call performance, along with an outright win in text performance, according to a new RootScore® Report by independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics®.

Since RootMetrics’ previous test five months ago in Austin, Sprint’s median download speed increased by 27 percent. As for call performance, Sprint did not record any blocked calls during testing.

In 101 markets measured in the first half of 2015, Sprint has been awarded a total of 139 first place (outright or shared) RootScore Awards for overall, reliability, speed, data, call, or text network performance.1

“Our Austin network gets better every day as we work to deliver the consistent reliability, capacity, and speed that our customers demand,” said Mike Hennigan, vice president of Sprint’s network in the South Region. “We’re pleased with these latest results and we’ll continue to improve the experience as we further invest in our Austin network.”

Best Value in Wireless

In addition to offering a significantly improved network, Sprint is committed to providing consumers the best value in wireless. With the Cut Your Bill in Half Event, Sprint will cut in half the monthly rate plan for Verizon and AT&T customers who switch to Sprint when they bring in their current bill and their old phones. The offer provides unlimited talk and text to anywhere in the U.S. while on the Sprint network – regardless of a customer’s current plan – and matches the customer’s data allowance for half the cost they are currently paying for their monthly rate plan.2 Sprint will reimburse all of the costs to switch, including early termination fees and remaining payments on phone installment plans – no matter what is owed. Sprint will reimburse the switching costs within approximately 15 days of successfully completing the online registration and providing a bill that shows the early termination charge or device balance due via an American Express Reward card.3
