Wireless Innovation Forum Submits Recommendations on the Draft SCA 4.1 Specification to Joint Tactical Networking Center

Standard will serve as an architecture framework developed to assist in the development of software defined radio communication systems

WASHINGTON--()--The Wireless Innovation Forum announced today the submission of 10 recommendations to the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC) for the newly released draft Software Communications Architecture (SCA) 4.1 Standard. This standard will serve as an architecture framework developed to assist in the development of software defined radio communication systems and captures the benefits of recent technology advances which are expected to greatly enhance interoperability of communication systems and reduce development and deployment costs.

The Forum’s Coordinating Committee on International SCA Standards (CC SCA) has been working with the JTNC to develop technical recommendations for SCA 4.1 since November 2013. Following the release of the draft standard in February 2015 (http://groups.winnforum.org/d/do/7959) the CC SCA has been adjudicating issues submitted by the general public to create the recommendations forwarded today.

“We were very encouraged by the number of submissions we received on the draft standard and the resulting discussions,” said Lee Pucker, CEO of the Forum. “The 10 recommendations being submitted to the JTNC today, we believe, represent a thoroughly discussed and explored improvement to the draft standard and we couldn’t be more proud of the work the Forum members have put into the resulting product.”

Recommendations submitted to the JTNC and available publicly, include:
