Heart Rhythm 2015

BOSTON--()--Heart Rhythm 2015 – May 13-16, 2015 – Geneva Healthcare will showcase a set of new features on The Geneva Healthcare Suite – an innovative technology platform for managing data from cardiac devices for cardiology practices and hospitals – at Heart Rhythm Society's 36th Annual Scientific Sessions in Boston. The cloud-based software suite organizes device data from multiple sources on an intuitive dashboard to provide critical health information to clinicians in real time. New features in The Geneva Healthcare Suite 2.0 focus on streamlining practice workflow and patient engagement with automated reminders, notifications and follow up for remote monitoring that create an open channel of communication between doctor and patient.

“We want to help make the management of all this device data easier for cardiology practices by centralizing information in Geneva, which is accessible anytime and anywhere. This will allow physicians and staff to focus more of their time on patient care. In addition, we are extremely focused on patient engagement for these practices. We are creating an advanced mobility platform that will allow for offices to automate scheduling and follow up for remote monitoring. This includes the ability for the physician and staff to directly collaborate with the patient through various communication channels,” said Yuri Sudhakar, CEO of Geneva Healthcare. “For physicians, the ability to immediately access patient information on their iPad or smart phone results in improved quality of care.”

The new features expand on The Geneva Healthcare Suite’s current offering for presenting implanted cardiac device data, which is already in use at cardiac care centers and emergency rooms across the country. In addition, Geneva’s new patient engagement features can potentially help providers meet some core objectives of CMS’ Stage 3 Meaningful Use including coordination of care through patient engagement.

“This platform solves a critical problem we have every day: patients with implanted cardiac devices are forced to wait hours for representatives from the device manufacturers to arrive and process data from the device. A patient can wait hours just to understand the status of their device,” said Paul Patchen, Vice President of Sharp HealthCare’s Cardiovascular Service Line. Sharp HealthCare, San Diego’s leading integrated regional health care delivery system, signed a multiyear, system-wide contract to use the suite in all four of its emergency departments at its acute care hospitals. “With The Geneva Healthcare Suite, our own staff can understand the data instantly and begin making critical decisions about the patient’s care.”

A study published in the Academic Emergency Medicine Journal proved that The Geneva Healthcare Suite cuts emergency room wait times an average of 92 minutes. The platform allows emergency department operators to efficiently access a patient’s cardiac device data, use that information at the point of care and immediately make this information accessible to the most qualified clinician wherever they are.

Heart Rhythm 2015 is the most comprehensive educational program for heart rhythm professionals, featuring more than 250 educational sections and more than 130 exhibitors showcasing innovative products and services. The Heart Rhythm Society’s Annual Scientific Sessions have become the must-attend event of the year, allowing the exchange of new vital ideas and information among colleagues from every corner of the globe.
