NEW YORK--()--The Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) announced today they have selected Cureatr, Inc., as their mobile care coordination technology partner for secure messaging and Care Transition Notifications™. This agreement will provide the thousands of VNSNY healthcare providers mobile access to secure messaging and real-time, HIPAA-compliant patient information.

VNSNY is the largest not-for-profit home- and community-based health care organization in the nation, providing expert and compassionate care to approximately 164,200 patients annually across the five boroughs of New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester. In 2014, VNSNY clinicians made over 1.9 million home- and community-based professional visits. Cureatr, co-founded by a physician and headquartered in lower Manhattan, builds Care Transition Notification™ Networks, which combine the use of HIPAA-compliant secure messaging and workflow tools with real-time information about when a patient is admitted or discharged.

VNSNY’s selection of Cureatr represents a continued commitment to excellence in both patient care and care coordination. VNSNY consistently seeks out opportunities to develop programs that address the needs of its patients, especially as health regulations change. VNSNY’s relationship with Cureatr will enable improvements in home healthcare, care transitions, patient experience, provider-to-provider communication and overall clinical outcomes.

“VNSNY conducted a comprehensive search for a partner that represents a best in class mentality of excellence and expertise in clinical patient care, security and innovation,” says Hugh Hale, chief information officer for Visiting Nurse Service of New York. “Cureatr has been an active partner in continued development to meet our unique needs and goal to provide outstanding patient care.”

Christopher Brown, Director of Application Services added, “Cureatr immediately filled a business need to enable mobile care coordination services within a safe, secure, and reliable platform. Cureatr is now a foundational application offering within our service portfolio and we look forward to expanding its use in improving care setting transitions.”

At the request of VNSNY, Cureatr is making its application available on Windows Mobile devices in addition to iOS and Android-equipped mobile devices.

VNSNY is a key component in Cureatr’s networked approach to mobile care coordination throughout New York City and the Metropolitan area,” said Joseph Mayer, MD, chief executive officer and co-founder of Cureatr. “VNSNY’s clinicians are embedded and successfully providing care in all five of the boroughs of New York. They are a cornerstone of New York healthcare. Cureatr is excited to not only work with the VNSNY team to expedite internal care coordination, but to facilitate their secure communication with other New York healthcare providers. Cureatr’s technology will align with VNSNY’s clinical best practice workflows to ensure that information exchanged between providers is secure, accurate and efficient.“
