MEXICO CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A.M. Best is pleased to announce the arrival of Manuel Calderón de las Heras as the new managing director for A.M. Best América Latina in Mexico City. Manuel will be responsible for management of the Mexican operation as well as growing A.M. Best’s presence in the rest of Latin America.
Manuel comes to A.M. Best with 20 years of experience with the Comisión Nacional de Seguros y Fianzas (CNSF). As Vice President and the lead technical expert at the CNSF, he participated in the development and implementation of the main reforms of the regulatory and supervisory frameworks of the Mexican insurance and surety markets, helping to guide the industry to become the first country in the world to adopt a Solvency II –like regime. Manuel also holds a degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. His personal knowledge of the Latin American markets, advanced technical expertise and global experience will be valuable assets for A.M. Best.
