McKesson Reporting Key for Chicago Area Imaging Group

Practice seeks edge with actionable insight from business reporting tools

ATLANTA--()--A Chicago area radiology practice has chosen McKesson Business Performance Services (McKesson) to boost its reporting and better position the group to meet expanding, reform-driven data requirements.

McKesson will provide Radiology & Nuclear Consultants and Community Imaging with full revenue cycle management services, including provider enrollment and credentialing, clinical documentation assistance, coding, claims management, denial management, compliance and business intelligence reporting.

Jeff Lynch, the group’s administrator, said the practice looked at multiple revenue cycle service providers before selecting McKesson. He said the company’s comprehensive reporting package was of great importance in the decision.

Radiology & Nuclear Consultants is a 15-physician independent practice serving Palos Community Hospital and multiple private physician practice specialty clients. The practice handles about 250,000 procedures annually amongst their client base.

“As payer contracting and hospital service agreements continue to evolve, being able to collect, analyze and share a wide range of clinical and financial information will be essential to success,” Lynch said. “McKesson offers by far the most comprehensive reporting capabilities of any vendor that we are aware of. Not only will their reporting help us better understand and improve our practice, but it will allow us to compete more effectively as healthcare reform gains momentum.”

Lynch said the group was also expecting significant benefits from McKesson’s competencies across the revenue cycle, which range from coding and documentation expertise to assistance with provider enrollment and credentialing.

“We feel like we have a real partner in McKesson,” Lynch said. “We are excited about moving forward with them.”

Pat Leonard, president of McKesson Business Performance Services, said McKesson is committed to providing the most extensive financial reporting capabilities in the medical billing industry.

“We are constantly exploring ways to not only increase the breadth of financial information we provide, but also how we can make that information easier to understand, more accessible and more relevant,” Leonard said. “One of the strengths of our reporting is flexibility. Based on the client’s needs or concerns, we can develop reports to help meet a variety of needs.”
