The New York Times and Women in the World Announce Launch of New Digital Platform on NYTimes.com

NEW YORK--()--The New York Times and Women in the World announce the launch today of a new digital platform on NYTimes.com for Women in the World. It is now live at NYTimes.com/WomenIntheWorld.

The mobile-optimized, responsive site was built and designed by The New York Times as part of a multiyear agreement between the two companies to collaborate on the Women in the World summit series. As was announced in Dec. 2014, The Times is an investor in Women in the World and sells sponsorships and advertising for Women in the World events and digital.

Overseen by founder and CEO Tina Brown, Women in the World digital is updated frequently with original stories, photos and video created by Women in the World writers, editors and producers. In addition to news, commentary and information about its live events, Women in the World showcases contributions from its global community. The site also includes a social stream and share tools for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

Launched in 2010, the Women in the World summits bring together change-making women from across the globe and have included leaders such as Hillary Clinton, Leymah Gbowee, Angelina Jolie and Christine Lagarde.

Over the past six years, the Summit has become the premier showcase for women of impact—and for the men who champion them—with vivid journalistic narratives, stirring videos and provocative discussions during a three-day event at Lincoln Center in New York. This year’s calendar includes summits in Dubai, London and New Delhi.

The first Women in the World Summit of 2015 will take place April 22–24 at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York, and will be produced in association with The New York Times. Ticket information and the agenda are available here. The entire three-day Summit will stream live on its new digital home.

Toyota is a significant supporter of the launch of the new Women in the World digital platform. Since 2012, Toyota has been a presenting sponsor of the Women in the World Summit and Salon series, and a founding partner of the “Toyota Mothers of Invention” program.
