MEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Agero, Inc., a leading provider of vehicle and driver safety, security and information services, and The Cross Country Group (CCG) today announced the appointment of Kate Sweeney as chief financial officer of Agero, Inc. Sweeney will assume the position previously held by Peggy Glander Ward, who served as the chief financial and administrative officer for Agero over the last 10 years, and who is now taking the position of Chief Financial Officer of The Cross Country Group, Agero’s parent company.
With more than 20 years of experience in finance, operations and strategic planning, Sweeney will build on the company’s success by overseeing Agero’s financial growth and profitability as it develops innovative solutions and services for its growing roster of flagship clients in the automotive and insurance industries.
Prior to Sweeney’s appointment at Agero, she served as senior vice president of finance at Wolverine Worldwide, where she was responsible for supporting the dynamic growth of the Sperry Top-Sider and Stride Rite brands. She began her career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where she held various finance and accounting roles, and earned her Massachusetts CPA license. Sweeney studied Business Administration and Accounting at the University of Vermont. She will lead all financial activities and facility management, and work out of Agero’s headquarters in Medford, Mass.
“We are very pleased to have Kate, a seasoned finance leader, join the Agero team,” said Dave Ferrick, chief executive officer and president of Agero. “Her strong planning and operations background, new product launch experience, and consumer goods industry expertise with several of the country’s most recognized retail brands will play a key role as we continue to expand our footprint in the automotive and insurance industries.”
In her promotion to CFO of The Cross Country Group, Ward is replacing Thomas Graham, who recently retired after a successful tenure of more than 20 years in the position. Before her role with Agero, Ward held executive level positions in finance, operations, and marketing for publicly held consumer brands, including Dunkin’ Donuts and The Stride Rite Corporation. Peggy began her career with Ernst & Young in Boston, where she earned a CPA. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Boston College. In her new role at CCG, she will be based out of CCG’s headquarters in Medford, Mass.
“For a decade, Agero benefited from Peggy’s financial leadership. Her work on acquisition and divestitures, client wins, and business infrastructure were critical drivers of Agero’s growth. These skills will serve her well in her new role at CCG, where she can continue to provide strategic financial leadership and drive growth for the entire CCG portfolio of companies,” said Sidney Wolk, founder of Agero and The Cross Country Group.
