BankSouth Deploys nCino

Community bank incorporates cloud in response to applying Lean Six Sigma methodology, seeing growth as result

WILMINGTON, N.C.--()--nCino, the leader in secure, cloud-based bank operating solutions to the financial services industry, today announced that $380 million BankSouth has selected its Bank Operating System to create more efficiency around its commercial and consumer loan production and performance.

The Georgia-based bank has been looking to expand its regional footprint, but needed to first adopt more electronic processes and better leverage its employees’ expertise. Rebecca Matthews, certified in Lean Six Sigma, joined BankSouth as director of special projects and found a solution in nCino that would help the community bank follow this methodology to improve quality and eliminate waste. nCino’s Bank Operating System combines essential loan origination functions with customer relationship management (CRM), business process workflows and reporting dashboards in a single place to automate the entire lending process. For BankSouth, the implementation of nCino has resulted in a centralized loan platform, allowing increased flexibility to conduct loan approvals. With the ability to import documents, the bank has not run a paper file since day one of implementation and has armed key staff with tablets to approve loans from any location, without disruption.

Matthews explained, “nCino is the scalable platform we needed to support a Six Sigma culture. We have not only significantly improved the process and time associated with processing loans, but have also reallocated bank resources to be more effective and efficient. The transformation resulting from nCino folds nicely into our strategic direction to grow, while allowing us to maintain focus on what truly matters – being the best business partner for our customers.”

Deploying nCino has enabled BankSouth to build more branches and staff them smartly with employees equipped to carry more responsibility, offering the full complement of banking and loan products. Longer term, the bank plans to use nCino’s CRM capabilities to unify its enterprise initiatives by empowering its lenders to be better relationship managers for proactive outreach around renewals, cross referrals and more.

nCino CEO Pierre Naudé said, “BankSouth demonstrates the epitome of doing more with less. It has eliminated paper and associated costs, expedited its lending process, and created a more interactive banking culture – all from a single solution. We are thrilled to see how the Bank Operating System has given BankSouth the 360-degree view it needs to effectively build exceptional relationships and maximize its use of internal resources.”
