Former FedEx Executive Dennis Beal Joins XL Hybrids’ Advisory Board

Global fleet industry leader to advise on accelerating innovations and growth for fleet electrification company

BOSTON--()--XL Hybrids, Inc., the leader in fleet electrification solutions for commercial and municipal fleets, announced the addition of former FedEx executive, Dennis Beal, to its advisory board. Beal’s 46 years of experience in the transportation industry will contribute keen insights into the complex decision-making process of fleet executives as they address business goals and sustainability objectives.

“Dennis knows optimizing operations is imperative to the success of major fleets,” said Tod Hynes, president and founder of XL Hybrids. “By joining our advisory board, Dennis is making a statement about the critical role of XL Hybrids’ technology in creating more efficient and sustainable fleets.”

Most recently, Beal was vice president of global vehicles at FedEx Express. He retired in 2014 after 17 years with FedEx Express and FedEx Freight, where he was responsible for all vehicles – on and off road – including alternative fuel vehicles and the FedEx Express research and development division.

Beal spearheaded the FedEx Express programs to maximize energy efficiency and minimize carbon footprint through initiatives such as vehicle aerodynamics and vehicle light-weighting. He worked with all facets of vehicle technologies, including hybrid electric, all-electric, natural gas, hydrogen and biofuels, along with modified internal combustion technologies.

“Being part of XL Hybrids’ advisory board allows me to keep my finger on the pulse of the latest advancements in hybrid electric technology and other alternative fuel innovations, while helping an industry-leading company grow its business,” said Beal. “My focus at XL Hybrids will be on voice-of-the-customer programs and extending my industry relationships to the team.”

XL Hybrids is expanding its advisory board to include recognized leaders with industry expertise in technology, finance and business development.
