Datapipe Launches Enhanced Cloud Security Service for Enterprise Web Applications

Cloud based web DDoS and WAF protection service adds real time protection for cloud assets against web application attacks

JERSEY CITY, N.J.--()--Datapipe, a global leader in managed hybrid IT solutions for the enterprise, today announced that as a result of its relationship with Imperva, it has integrated the Imperva Incapsula web application security and network protection service into Datapipe’s leading managed Hybrid IT Solutions offering.

Datapipe’s integration with Incapsula adds cloud-based web DDoS and web application firewall (WAF) protection to the existing DDoS mitigation and hardware WAFs offered within its data centers; an ideal combination for protecting cloud assets. The new offering is an easily integrated, global solution that intelligently profiles incoming traffic in real-time to block even the latest web threats, from scrapers and spammers to sophisticated Injection and XSS attacks, as well as mitigating network and application DDoS attacks. In addition, outgoing traffic is accelerated and optimized through caching and optimization techniques.

“Incapsula is a great addition to Datapipe’s already robust and secure Hybrid IT solution by offering clients additional security and control for cloud-based applications,” said Joel Friedman, Chief Security Officer, Datapipe. “Datapipe is pleased with the ability of the Incapsula service to mitigate DDoS and web application attacks in third party clouds, where deployment of hardware based appliances are not possible and upstream defense is desirable. We’re excited to enhance the solutions we’re already offering through our relationship with Imperva, a company that has industry recognition as a top WAF vendor, and that has also built a world-class network for DDoS mitigation. Incapsula further strengthens Datapipe’s capabilities to deliver in depth defense across all infrastructure platforms. In turn, this allows our clients to leverage the deployment strategy appropriate for their business, while still maintaining the highest levels of security.”

Datapipe will plan, deploy, and manage the service as part of an overall security model for its clients. The service provides cloud-based DDoS protection that can enhance and complement Amazon Web Services (AWS) with client application-specific DDoS mitigation capabilities. It offers best-of-breed web application security and web DDoS protection to protect the integrity and availability of critical web applications. The aim is to provide in-depth defense for enterprise websites whether those are hosted at a Datapipe facility on dedicated hardware, on a hosted private cloud, or managed on AWS.

Key elements of the Incapsula integration with Datapipe include:

Enterprise-Grade Website Security
A PCI-certified web application firewall, advanced bot detection and access control technologies secure any website against known and emerging threats. This includes common eb 2.0 threats such as spammers, scrapers and vulnerability scanners, in addition to sophisticated SQL Injections, Cross Site Scripting, and other application level attacks.

"Always On" DDoS Protection
Datapipe’s Incapsula integration mitigates network and application layer DDoS attacks against web servers with automatic detection and transparent mitigation that minimizes false positives, ensuring a normal user experience even when the site is under attack.

Content Delivery Network (CDN) Solution for Acceleration
This solution includes content compression, networking optimization, and smart session handling to optimize websites and speed up delivery. The Incapsula content delivery network is the backbone of these services with data centers strategically located across the globe to accelerate traffic for its clients.

“Security is in our DNA,” said Marc Gaffan, general manager of the Incapsula product line at Imperva. “As a worldwide leader in enterprise-grade website security, it made sense to integrate our solution with a worldwide leader in hybrid IT security. We look forward to working with Datapipe to further simplify IT operations and reduce costs while still offering best-of-breed security.”

This integration, coupled with the recent announcement of the Datapipe Access Control Model for AWS (DACMA), demonstrates Datapipe’s deep understanding and experience in effectively planning, building and running highly secure and available AWS environments for clients across the globe.
