1492 Small Cap Core Alpha Mutual Fund Employs “Best Ideas” Investment Philosophy

MILWAUKEE--()--1492 Capital Management, a boutique institutional small cap manager, today announced the availability of their newly converted 1492 Small Cap Core Alpha Fund (FNTSX) which was formerly known as the 1492 Small Cap Growth Fund (FNTGX). The fund’s investment objective is unchanged and continues to be managed according to the firm’s unique investment philosophy built on thematic investing. The investment team selects their “best ideas” previously identified from the small cap growth and the small cap value strategies during the fundamental research process.

“The 1492 Small Cap Core Alpha mutual fund is managed with the same investment process as our Small Cap Core Alpha separate account strategy. Over the years, we have been asked to roll this strategy out in a mutual fund format. Today we are happy to provide advisors and retail investors another way to access our Small Cap Core Alpha strategy,” commented Tim Stracka, Founding Principal at 1492 Capital Management.

The 1492 Small Cap Core Alpha fund pursues its investment objective by investing primarily in U.S. small-capitalization companies that the Adviser believes offer the best risk-to-reward metrics at the time of purchase. The Fund’s “core” strategy allows the Adviser to acquire both small cap growth and small cap value stocks for the Fund’s portfolio and to focus on its best ideas in the small cap universe. In choosing investments, the Adviser may consider, among other factors, an issuer’s management, financial strength, valuation, business model, growth potential, dividends and cash flows.
