Arrow Electronics Expands Development Kit Portfolio with New DECA Evaluation Board Featuring Altera’s MAX 10 FPGA

-- Global workshop series to provide tools and training kicks off --

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--()--Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today announced the latest addition to its portfolio of development tools with the Arrow DECA evaluation board, featuring Altera’s MAX 10® FPGA and Enpirion® power solutions. Altera’s MAX 10 FPGAs transforms non-volatile FPGAs by integrating dual-configuration flash, analog blocks, memory, DSP and embedded processing capabilities all within a small form-factor single chip package. Arrow is hosting a series of global workshops to demonstrate use of the DECA evaluation board to optimize design performance and accelerate development time.

Arrow Electronics has collaborated with Altera, Texas Instruments (TI), Silicon Labs, Micron, Molex and Cypress in the development of the DECA board. Featuring TI’s new HDC1000 humidity sensor and temperature sensor, DECA is a full-featured hardware evaluation board that enables engineers to reduce board area, cost, and complexity while interfacing to a multitude of sensors and interfaces. Additionally, the board incorporates other signal chain, audio, and logic integrated circuits from TI. Coupled with a BLE/WIFI cape, both software and hardware engineers can utilize DECA to kickstart an Internet of Things (IoT) design that takes integration to the next level.

“The DECA board is the result of successful cooperation among several Arrow collaborators. It is innovative, practical and will simplify the design process for engineers,” said Chakib Loucif, vice president of engineering for Arrow Electronics. “DECA includes a comprehensive portfolio of technologies including Altera FPGA, a variety of sensors and communication protocols, enabling customers to fast track proof of concepts for their IoT applications.”

Hands-on DECA Workshops

Arrow DECA workshops offer design engineers an in-depth technical training on MAX 10 FPGAs. Attendees will receive step-by-step instructions on design techniques and tools usage. Registration is $99, which includes an evaluation kit bundle with the DECA board, a BLE/WiFi cape and camera module. Workshops launch in North American starting April 30, 2015.
