Robert Herjavec, Cybersecurity Leader and Shark Tank Investor, to Keynote ISACA’s Inaugural CSX 2015 Conference

Cybersecurity conference features 70 sessions designed for every career level

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.--()--Robert Herjavec, star of ABC’s Shark Tank, Dancing With the Stars contestant and founder of cybersecurity firm Herjavec Group, will share his expertise on protecting today’s currency—information—at ISACA’s inaugural CSX 2015 event in Washington DC, USA, 19-21 October 2015.

In his presentation, “The Cybersecurity Dance—Protecting the Currency of the 21st Century,” Herjavec will outline why cybersecurity must be a heightened responsibility of CEOs and boards. He will urge a proactive approach to staying a step ahead of threats.

CSX 2015, developed by global IT association ISACA—creators of Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX)—will be focused solely on practical cybersecurity solutions and guidance, tailored to every level of a security professional’s career. The conference will allow attendees to explore trends and threats, exchange ideas and insights, and learn how to excel at defending against threats and protecting their enterprises. Seventy sessions in three levels of complexity will be offered in five cyber tracks aligning with NIST’s US Cybersecurity Framework: Identify, Protect, Defend, Respond and Recover.

“Cybersecurity attacks are a daunting reality threatening global infrastructures, including power grids, transportation systems and health networks. The fact remains—no organization is immune,” said Herjavec, whose cybersecurity firm is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in North America. “It’s imperative you have that conversation from the top down to emphasize the importance of security, not as an addition to your organization’s values but as a pivotal component to ensuring they are upheld.”

In addition to Herjavec, CSX 2015 keynotes include:

  • Mike Rogers, senator and chair of the House Intelligence Committee, who will present “Cybersecurity, Counterterrorism and National Policy: A Leader Shaping the Debate on America’s Most Urgent Matters.”
  • John Sileo, nationally renowned cybersecurity expert, who will present “The Art of Human Hacking: Social Engineering Self Defense.”
  • Tyler Cohen Wood, senior officer and Cyber Branch chief for the Defense Intelligence Agency, who will discuss “Best Offense is a Great Defense: Data, Privacy & Avoiding Attacks that can Derail Your Business (or Your Life).”
  • Alexa Clay and Kyra Myra Phillips, authors of Misfit Economy, who will present “Knowing Your Enemy: Lessons from Hackers, Gangsters and Others in the Misfit Economy” and provide additional guidance in a special session on women in cybersecurity.

CSX 2015 is also the stage of the Global CyberLympics World Finals, an international online cybersecurity competition that tests the skills of information security and assurance professionals in teams of four to six people in areas including ethical hacking, computer network defense and computer forensics. Global CyberLympics is run by EC-Council Foundation, a nonprofit ethical hacking organization established in 2011.

Registration information for CSX 2015 can be found at www.isaca.org/cyber-con. Attendees who register and pay by 1 April receive a US $250 discount. A limited number of one-day passes are available. Attendees can earn up to 32 continuing professional education credits.
