RIDGELAND, Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--C Spire announced today that homeowner pre-registration exceeded the required threshold in a sixth area of the city of Ridgeland this week – helping it qualify for the company’s ultra-fast 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) Fiber to the Home Internet service and related super HD TV and home phone services.
Ridgeland’s Montrachet, Muirwood and Camden Park fiberhood reached its 35 percent pre-registration target Thursday and now joins the Bridgewater, Old Agency East, Highland Colony North, Birdlanes and Ann Smith fiberhoods, which qualified last year for the service.
The city was one of the first to qualify for Internet access up to 100 times faster than the national average broadband speeds in 2014 along with four areas in the city of Starkville and the entire town of Quitman. C Spire turned up commercial service for the first residential customers in Quitman, Ridgeland and Starkville last November. Clinton qualified its first three areas earlier this year and Jackson is continuing efforts to qualify areas in that town for the game-changing program.
