DALLAS--()--Taco Bueno® broke ground today on the first of three new restaurants planned to open in Colorado Springs, Colo., this year. In total, the three locations are anticipated to add more than 100 jobs in the community while offering consumers an authentic fresh Tex-Mex dining experience that has captured the taste buds of loyal fans for nearly 50 years.

“Taco Bueno is thrilled to have selected Colorado Springs for our first market expansion in six years,” said Kenn Miller, Taco Bueno’s vice president of development. “Colorado Springs consumers have been posting requests to social media asking Taco Bueno to build here for years, and we’re excited to introduce them to our take on freshly prepared, signature Tex-Mex tacos, burritos and nachos.”

Each of the three new company-owned Taco Bueno restaurants will seat approximately 50 guests and include a convenient drive-thru window. The restaurants are all projected to open by this summer and will be located at:

  • 7970 N. Academy – opening first
  • 538 W. Garden of the Gods Rd.
  • The intersection of Dublin and Tutt

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Taco Bueno as the newest member of the Pikes Peak business community,” said Al Wenstrand, chief business development officer for the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance. “Not only is Taco Bueno growing, as this represents its first new market expansion in six years, but it demonstrates that the Colorado Springs market is robust and growing.”

With the addition of Colorado Springs, Taco Bueno now operates in seven states: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Colorado. The restaurant prepares all of its menu items fresh and in-store daily such as slow-simmered beans made from scratch, flame-grilled all white meat chicken and steak, 100 percent fresh ground beef and fresh salsa on a complimentary salsa bar.

“I grew up in Dallas and I’m a long-time Buenohead!” said Bryan Hufford, a Colorado Springs-based Army sergeant. “I’m among the fans who requested Taco Bueno come to Colorado Springs via Facebook, and I’m thrilled they’re bringing the Tex-Mex flavors I crave to my new hometown.”

Taco Bueno is actively looking to hire more than 100 team members from the Colorado Springs community. Online applications are available at tacobueno.com/employment/.
