Popular program offers students a unique look into aviation careers

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Cathay Pacific is welcoming applications for the seventh iteration of the successful “I Can Fly” San Francisco program, which invites high schoolers with a true passion for travel and aviation on a unique educational adventure. Interested eleventh- and twelfth-grade high school students may submit applications online at http://us.cathaypacific.com/icanfly from now until March 11.

Guided entirely by dedicated Cathay Pacific staff volunteers, the “I Can Fly” San Francisco 2015 program will run eight weeks, from April 1 through May 13. Run by Cathay Pacific in many ports around the world since 2003, I Can Fly invites high schoolers with a true passion for travel and aviation on a unique educational adventure.

“It is our goal to show the students of the San Francisco Bay Area the limitless opportunities for pursuing a career in aviation,” said Tom Owen, Senior Vice President, Americas, Cathay Pacific. “The eight-week academy will cover a range of aviation topics and allows a group of classmates to learn about everything from flight operations to in-flight services and cargo. These real-world settings provide invaluable perspective for young students who are preparing to make choices in post-secondary education and their careers.”

The program runs weekly and operates after school hours at San Francisco International Airport, its vicinity or downtown San Francisco. For further details or to apply to the “I Can Fly” San Francisco 2015 program, please visit http://us.cathaypacific.com/icanfly.
