Villanova University Announces New Leadership Appointments

Villanova has appointed Kenneth G. Valosky, Executive Vice President, and Michael J. O'Neill, Senior Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations

The University has named Neil J. Horgan, Vice President for Finance, and Robert H. Morro, Vice President for Facilities Management

VILLANOVA, Pa.--()--Villanova University President, the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, has announced a series of new leadership appointments at the University. These appointments include Kenneth G. Valosky, as Executive Vice President; Michael J. O'Neill, as Senior Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations; Neil J. Horgan, as Vice President for Finance; and, Robert H. Morro, as Vice President for Facilities Management.

"These leadership changes come at an exciting time in Villanova’s history,” said Fr. Donohue. “With a number of strategic initiatives in progress, and on the horizon, this new structure will provide critical and streamlined leadership for the institution. This group brings the experience, integrity and ingenuity necessary for strategic and successful oversight of the University, now and in the future."

Kenneth G. Valosky has been promoted to Executive Vice President from his previous position as the University’s Vice President for Administration and Finance. As Executive Vice President, Valosky is responsible for Financial Affairs, Auxiliary Services, Human Resources, Facilities Management, Public Safety, Athletics, Information Technologies, Government Relations and External Affairs. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Villanova University and Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. Valosky previously held several senior financial positions at Thomas Jefferson University prior to joining Villanova University in 2000. Valosky also serves as a trustee and chair of the Stewardship Committee of the Mercy Health System and is a member of the Audit Committee of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Michael J. O'Neill has been promoted to Senior Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations. He arrived at Villanova in 2008 as Vice President for University Advancement, following five years as Associate Vice President for Development and University Relations at Fordham University. O'Neill oversaw the 2013 launch of Villanova’s $600 million Comprehensive Capital Campaign – the most ambitious in the University’s history – which recently surpassed the $410 million mark. He is responsible for the oversight of fundraising for Villanova’s colleges and schools, athletics and major programmatic and physical plant initiatives, as well as the operation of its five regional advancement offices, President's Advisory Council and the various campaign, executive and alumni leadership groups. O'Neill received both his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and MBA in Communications and Media Management from Fordham University.

Neil J. Horgan has been promoted to Vice President for Finance, following eight years as Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller. He is responsible for overseeing the University’s budget, financial planning and reporting, and the management of financial operations. Horgan came to Villanova in 2000 as the University’s Controller, after spending the previous nine years at University of Pennsylvania Health System, leaving as Assistant Director of Financial Operations for the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Georgetown University and went on to receive a Master of Taxation from Villanova University.

Robert H. Morro has been promoted to Vice President for Facilities Management after having served as Associate Vice President for Facilities Management. He is responsible for facility planning, design and construction; maintenance of buildings and grounds; custodial services; and environmental safety and health. Morro arrived at Villanova in 2002, following 20 years in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) from the University of Maryland at College Park.
