Radial Wrap™ Fiberglass Blanket from GLT Products Controls Heat Loss or Gain in Large-Diameter Pipes and Vessels

SOLON, Ohio--()--GLT Products, a leading producer of industrial and commercial insulation products, announced today the addition of a new product to their Pipe and Tank Wrap line. This product is designed to simplify thermal insulation of round surfaces like large-diameter pipes, tanks and vessels. Radial Wrap™ rolled fiberglass insulation offers many of the same insulating properties as fiberglass board, but is far more flexible, which simplifies installation. When compared to segmented products, it offers substantially lower thermal conductivity. It’s also a cost-effective alternative to pre-formed pipe insulation.

In introducing the product, Joel Hammer, GLT Products’ sales manager, noted, “Radial Wrap complements our existing line of thermal insulation solutions for pipes and tanks, and offers our customers a low-cost, easy-to-use way to prevent heat loss or gain in industrial and commercial settings. It also provides an important layer of protection between personnel and hot surfaces.”

Each roll of Radial Wrap is 48 inches wide and is either one-and-one-half or two inches thick. Unlike stiffer products, this continuous glass fiber blanket easily wraps tanks, pipes and irregularly shaped objects without loss of thermal efficiency. It is manufactured of bio-soluble glass fibers that are bonded in a random orientation with a thermosetting resin, which allows it to combine excellent compressive strength with flexibility. Radial Wrap is suitable for use in operating temperatures up to 850°F (454°C). It is available with either an ASJ (all service jacket) or FSK (foil/scrim/Kraft) facing.
