Columbia Advisory Group Hires David Maxwell to Lead Cyber Security Team

DALLAS--()--Columbia Advisory Group (CAG), a well-respected Information Technology (IT) consulting firm, hired David D. Maxwell as Leader of CAG’s Information Security Practice. He is responsible for leading the company’s cyber security/cyber threat assessment team and will provide strategic leadership, performance management and program support.

With David’s 24 years of specialized IT experience, he brings energy, expertise and unique perspective to our business, specifically in information security, threat assessment and remediation.”

Maxwell joins Columbia Advisory Group after 16 years with Alcon, most recently serving as the company’s Global IT Head of Information Governance and Management Security. He was responsible for security reviews and tests, eDiscovery, risk management, compliance and remediation efforts, and vendor assessments, among others. During his Alcon tenure, he served as the Manager of eDiscovery and Investigations for three years. Maxwell started at Alcon as Manager of Internet Applications.

Prior to Alcon, Maxwell was the Manager of Electronic Development for The Dallas Morning News/AH Belo, where he helped to launch the news publication’s website, as well as other start-ups under the Belo corporation. He began his IT career at Justin Boot Company.

Maxwell is a certified IT professional with a CISM, CISA and CISSP. He earned his BA Cum Laude from Northwood University and his Masters in IT with a core in Security from American InterContinental University.
