New Pricing for Garritan Abbey Road Studios CFX Concert Grand

Virtual piano receives stellar reviews and a new, lower price

BOULDER, Colo.--()--MakeMusic, Inc. and Abbey Road Studios announced today new pricing on their acclaimed virtual instrument, Garritan Abbey Road Studios CFX Concert Grand.

Effective today, the list price will change from $299.95 to $199.95.

“The CFX Concert Grand has received incredible reviews from the most respected publications in the industry," said Fred Flowerday, MakeMusic vice president of product. “Everyone who hears it or plays it becomes a believer. A recent exploratory sale price produced the same kind of enthusiasm at the store level. With this new pricing, we’re thrilled to carry on the Garritan tradition by putting this world-class piano within the reach of nearly every musician.”

To create this remarkable virtual instrument Garritan brought Yamaha’s flagship CFX Concert Grand piano to Abbey Road Studios, where it was recorded in historic Studio One by Abbey Road’s award-winning engineer Andrew Dudman, blending the latest technology with legendary equipment and acoustics.

In the February 2015 issue of Electronic Musician, the virtual instrument was given a 2015 Editors’ Choice Award and the following accolade: “Garritan’s CFX is so close to playing the real thing, it’s our number-one choice for recording.”

Here is some additional critical acclaim:

“… with CFX Concert Grand Garritan have raised the bar. It’s probably the best sampled piano there’s ever been.” - Robin Bigwood, Sound On Sound

“But this instrument really excels where most others fail: hearing it solo, unaccompanied by other instruments.” - Vijay Tellis-Nayak, Downbeat

“…it sounds absolutely beautiful, with exquisite tonal detail, powerful lows, glassy highs and a level of expressiveness that has to be felt to be believed.” - Computer Music

“…with so much control over mic placement, stunningly natural reverb, and the authentic reproduction of details that convince me I’m playing a real piano, Garritan CFX is my new go-to studio piano.” - Geary Yelton, Electronic Musician

The CFX Concert Grand includes the powerful ARIA Player, and is designed to be a perfect addition to music notation-based programs, such as Finale, as well as to all sequencers and digital audio workstations.

The CFX virtual instrument is available as a boxed (USB flash drive) version for $199.95. Audio samples, video and additional information can be found at Garritan.com. MakeMusic’s Garritan and Finale products are exclusively distributed through Alfred Music in North America, India, Australia and New Zealand and are available through music resellers worldwide.
