New Pilot Positions at NetJets Draw More than 1,000 Qualified Candidates

World-leading private aviation company to hire nearly 200 new pilots and 50 flight attendants in 2015

COLUMBUS, Ohio--()--NetJets® Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company and the worldwide leader in private aviation, recently announced the opening of up to 187 new pilot positions and up to 50 new flight attendant positions to be filled throughout 2015. Since the announcement, NetJets has already received more than 1,000 resumes from qualified pilots and about 200 from flight attendant candidates. The first group of new pilot hires is expected to start on-site training in the first quarter of the year.

“This is a fantastic way to start a new year and we are extremely pleased to expand our workforce for pilots and flight attendants, all in an effort to better serve our customers,” NetJets Chief Operating Officer Bill Noe said. “Due to the strength of our business and our brand around the world, in 2014 we were able to not only recall pilots who were furloughed in 2009 because of the economic downturn, but grow our business to the point where we can open the door for new team members as well.

“And looking at the number of qualified applicants we’ve received in such a short time period speaks volumes to the quality of employment and opportunity we offer at NetJets.”

NetJets is selecting only top tier candidates for interviews. The candidate pool is made up of the best aviators in the industry, including high end corporate pilots, military pilots and those with extensive experience at major or regional airlines. They are individuals who have achieved great success not only as technical experts in their field, but also ones whose dedication to exceptional service is evident during every aspect of each flight they conduct.

Qualified candidates have at minimum an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-Engine Land), Current FAA First Class Medical certificate, at least 2,500 hours of total pilot time, 500 hours fixed wing multi-engine time and 250 hours instrument time (actual or simulated in flight - excludes simulator time).

“It’s a great accomplishment to be part of this team of pilots and it has been a fantastic experience since my first flight with NetJets,” pilot Brian Gallagher said. “The opportunity to fly the newest and most advanced aircraft in the industry, fly our customers to places others can’t including some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world, and be able to provide a level of service to customers that’s like no other in aviation – it’s a job you can’t beat.”

NetJets pilots fly one of more than 20 aircraft types that are part of the NetJets global fleet of more than 700 aircraft worldwide. In 2012, NetJets began accepting delivery of an historic $17.6 billion order of new aircraft including the Phenom 300, Challenger 350 and 650, Global (5000-8000) and Citation Latitude. To date more than 60 of the all-new aircraft have already entered the fleet, with up to 600 more to be delivered over the next decade.

In 2009, after the economic crash, NetJets was forced to reduce the pilot work force by nearly 500. As the economy slowly recovered, NetJets worked to recall the furloughed pilots, and all furloughed pilots were offered recall by the end of 2014. In addition, growth in demand for NetJets services globally has created opportunity for team growth. For more information visit www.netjets.com and https://www.netjets.com/Careers/Pilots/
