Watermill Group Expands Team

LEXINGTON, Mass.--()--The Watermill Group, a strategy driven private investment firm, has expanded its team with three key hires spanning marketing, transactions and administration. As Director of Marketing, Sarah Bowen works on marketing and business development initiatives for the firm, as well as marketing strategy for select Watermill portfolio companies. Matt Bergin, who previously spent two and a half years with Watermill Group, has rejoined as Director of Transactions and is responsible for evaluating and coordinating potential transactions, as well as providing project-specific assistance to portfolio companies. Additionally, Kaari Purstell has joined the team as an Executive Assistant and Manager of Administration.

Ms. Bowen has 10 years of marketing experience. She joins Watermill from King Fish Media, a boutique content marketing agency, where she served as account manager for clients such as Bank of America, Fidelity, IP.com, Joseph’s Pasta, Mass Mutual, and Penske. Previously, Ms. Bowen held positions at Simon & Schuster, FashionPlaytes, and Foodista, where she developed marketing and management expertise and gained insights into a wide range of industries. Ms. Bowen received an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a B.A. from Bates College.

Mr. Bergin has 7 years of experience in private equity. He returns to Watermill from Lazard, where he raised capital for private equity clients and completed secondary advisory transactions, including limited partnership portfolio sales and fund restructurings. Previously, Mr. Bergin worked at Newbury Partners as a Senior Associate where he supported the transaction team across all secondary related functions, including evaluation and monitoring of portfolio investments, participating in more than $250 million of secondary investments, co-investments and primary fund investments. Mr. Bergin received a B.S. from Georgetown University.
