FLINT, Mich.--()--Bill Hardimon has been named president and CEO of McLaren Medical Group, the employed provider network of primary care and specialty physicians and physician extenders serving approximately 54 counties in Michigan. He assumed his role on Oct. 20, 2014.

Hardimon is responsible for all aspects of McLaren Medical Group’s administrative operations, including the implementation and oversight of key strategic initiatives covering clinical quality, customer service, operational efficiency, and growth and expansion of the network. He will work closely with leadership across the McLaren system, as well as collaborate with network physicians and other individuals to ensure systemwide best practices.

“Today, McLaren employs more than 400 primary and specialty care physicians serving patients throughout the state,” said Mark O’Halla, executive vice president/chief operating officer of McLaren Health Care. “Bill Hardimon has extensive expertise in the area of medical practice management and shares our vision of providing quality, accessible, patient-centered care to those we are privileged to serve.”

Hardimon, 49, has more than 20 years of health care administration experience and most recently served as CEO for Mid-Michigan Physicians, a multispecialty physician network of approximately 100 providers, based in Lansing. He also has held CEO positions at Michigan CardioVascular Institute in Saginaw and the Cardiology Institute of Michigan in Flint, as well as administrative roles at Detroit Medical Center, Detroit Community Health Connection, Greater Detroit Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, and Great Lakes Rehabilitation Hospital.

“McLaren Health Care has a proven track record of success, growth and leadership that is unparalleled in the state,” said Hardimon. “I’m excited to be part of such an accomplished organization at a time when health care is changing so dramatically. The role of our physicians is greater than ever, and I look forward to working with them and the entire team at McLaren to continue providing high-quality care for patients in our communities.”

Hardimon, a current resident of Linden, earned an MBA from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree in human physiology from Oakland University. He replaces Mark O’Halla, who served as president and CEO of McLaren Medical Group before assuming his current role as executive vice president/chief operating officer at McLaren Health Care. Prior to O’Halla, Margaret Dimond served as president and CEO of McLaren Medical Group; she was promoted from the position to president of Karmanos Cancer Hospital, a subsidiary of McLaren Health Care.
