Announcing MyHealthAccess, an online patient e-booking system for Canadian EMRs

MyHealthAccess allows patients to book medical appointments online with their clinics

VICTORIA, British Columbia--()--Cloud Practice Inc. is proud to announce the launch of its online patient appointment e-booking application, MyHealthAccess.

MyHealthAccess simplifies the connection between patients and clinics by making it possible for the two to interact online. Providing patients with the convenience to book appointments at their leisure and giving clinics a more efficient way of managing scheduled appointments, the software aims to help both parties save time and effort while increasing patient satisfaction.

In order to make an online booking with a clinic, a patient’s account must first be connected to that clinic in MyHealthAccess. Either party can create a connection request which is sent via email. Once the connection is confirmed, patients will be able to see when healthcare providers are available for an appointment. Appointments can be scheduled or easily rescheduled via the web application and reminders can be activated to cut back on patient no-shows. Multiple clinic connections are possible through the same patient account.

Seamlessly integrating with one of Canada’s most popular electronic medical record (EMR) systems, OSCAR, MyHealthAccess can save clinics and healthcare practitioners a lot of time and work redundancy. Schedules created in the EMR, as well as patient demographic details and provider details, easily transfer to MyHealthAccess which significantly decreases the amount of data entry required.

Once a patient books online, the clinic EMR’s schedule is automatically updated to show the self-booked appointment. Additional communication between the patient and the clinic can be done via the secure internal messaging feature, ensuring privacy is always protected.

Dr. Sachit Shah, a healthcare provider and clinic owner in the lower mainland, is an early adopter of MyHealthAccess and had this to say about the software: “MyHealthAccess has made it much easier for my staff and I to connect with our patients. The fact that it integrates so smoothly with our OSCAR EMR saves us a lot of time and the administrative staff love the automated appointment reminders feature.”

The Cloud Practice team is currently working to add more features based on feedback from users and will be integrating with other EMR systems in the near future.

Jordan Visco, CEO of Cloud Practice Inc., is determined to continue working to better the technology available to medical professionals in Canada. “In a lot of ways, Canada is behind when it comes to the software available to make our medical professionals’ lives easier. It’s great to see more doctors get online and begin to cut back on their administrative workload by using services like MyHealthAccess. We want to provide doctors, nurses, clinic managers, and medical office assistants with the software they need to do their jobs efficiently.”

The company offers a free online demonstration of the MyHealthAccess software for those wanting to learn more.
