NEW YORK--()--Cupcake Digital, Inc. (www.CupcakeDigital.com), a leading developer of award-winning children’s apps has acquired Little Bit Studio, LLC (www.LittleBitStudio.com), developers of the popular Bugs and Buttons series of apps for children. This is the second acquisition this year for Cupcake Digital, following the purchase of iStoryTime (www.iStoryTime.com), and further positions the company as a dominant player in the digital app space.

“The acquisition of Little Bit Studio allows us to strategically build our growing IP portfolio with this highly original, creative company and strengthens our position as a creator of entertaining, educational content for kids,” said Cupcake Digital CEO Brad Powers. “This acquisition represents the next step in our plans for utilizing our capabilities to innovate and extend into new directions with wholly owned IP across all media”. We are extremely excited about the acquisition and the inclusion of Little Bit Studio’s existing suite of Bugs and Buttons apps in our ecosystem. We look forward to giving this talented team the resources and infrastructure that will enable them to take their creativity to new levels.”

Little Bit Studio will fold into Cupcake Digital’s broader structure of technology and marketing resources that will result in new products and marketing initiatives. The company will be making an initial investment in marketing and advertising to support the introduction of new products as early as the first quarter of 2015.

“Becoming part of Cupcake Digital allows us to think more broadly about app development and push the boundaries of what is possible when you blend creativity with educational concepts,” said Little Bit Studio founder Scott Vann. “Apps offer a non-traditional way of learning and with the resources and direction that our combined companies will have, we can continue to be an enabling force in changing the market and stretching what can be done in the app space and beyond.”
