Heat Pipe Technology’s Ken Jurgensmeyer Wins FLATE 2014 Distinguished Industry Service Award

This Prestigious Award Recognizes Mr. Jurgensmeyer’s Work with Area Schools to Promote Manufacturing Awareness and Careers

TAMPA, Fla.--()--Heat Pipe Technology (HPT) a division of MiTek® Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company (NYSE: BRK-A, NYSE: BRK-B), today announced that Ken Jurgensmeyer, HPT’s Director of Engineering and Operations, has won the FLATE 2014 Distinguished Industry Service Award.

FLATE is the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center of Excellence, and this award recognizes excellence and dedication for those who reach out to school programs to make students and teachers aware of manufacturing jobs and careers. FLATE Award winners are selected from nominations that are submitted from around the state of Florida every Fall. The award will be presented at the Annual Manufacturers' Association of Florida (MAF) Summit, December 4 in Destin, FL.

Mr. Jurgensmeyer’s passion for education and teaching extends beyond the classroom; he is widely regarded in the HVAC industry for his skills as an educator, which Jurgensmeyer uses to convey the benefits of heat pipe technology to any HPT prospects that may be new to the Company’s innovative passive energy recovery and dehumidification systems.
