FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--()--In its 55th year, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the largest in-water boat show in the world, opens Thursday, Oct. 30 and runs through Monday, Nov. 3. The show attracts an international audience of marine enthusiasts to the “Yachting Capital of the World,” including hundreds of marine companies from more than 29 countries exhibiting astonishing super-yachts, boats of all sizes and a wide variety of marine products and boating accessories.

Exhibitors and attendees gather to connect, learn, see, sell and buy at this important annual event, long regarded as an indicator of the marine industry's overall economic strength.

“Year after year our goal for the show is to enhance the overall experience for visitors and offer industry professionals the best platform to conduct business,” said Efrem “Skip” Zimbalist III, CEO of Show Management, the company that manages and produces the show. “This year we have more exhibit space than ever before, further-improved navigational aids and additional dining options all designed to ensure that the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show remains the center of the yachting world.”

This year's show features an expanded footprint with seven venues, the most ever in the show's history. Featuring nearly $4 billion worth of products across more than three million square feet of exhibit space, the show's exhibits include expensive yacht toys such as water jet packs, helicopters and personal submarines, plus a display of exotic automobiles.

For those not looking for a new boat, the show offers plenty of fun including world-famous floating cocktail lounges, live music and fishing and boating seminars for adults and children of all ages. New this year is AquaZone by Nautical Ventures, featuring live paddleboard, kayak, hovercraft and freedive demonstrations in a 25-foot-by-50-foot, 15,000 gallon pool.

The show’s seven locations are connected by a convenient land and water transportation network offering parking and transportation options to get show-goers to the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Municipal Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Sails Marina, Pier 66 Marina and the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.
