FOXWOODS® RESORT CASINO KICKS-OFF HOLIDAY GIVING SEASON WITH “STUFF THE BUS” CAMPAIGN

Proceeds to benefit United Way of Southeastern Connecticut “Tommy Toy” Fund

Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest resort casino in North America, is proud to announce the launch of its 2nd Annual “Stuff the Bus” holiday giving campaign. From November 1st through December 8th, Foxwoods will be collecting new, unwrapped children’s toys, blankets, pajamas, jackets and diapers from guests and team members to be donated to local families in need. Donations will be accepted from 8:00am to 12:00am daily at the Foxwoods Bus Terminal, where a bus will be parked in Bay #1 ready to receive the gifts. Additional drop off locations will be set up throughout the property, including the Bus Lobby and Fox Tower hotel lobby. Guests are also invited to place their donations directly inside the bus. All proceeds will benefit the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and its “Tommy Toy” Fund program.

“This event was a huge success last year, and we’re thrilled to be able to do it again and give back to our community,” said John Voisinet, Director of Bus Marketing and Junkets, whose team is responsible for initiating the holiday event. “It’s an honor to be able to help families in the area during the holidays, and we’re looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of the children and families who will benefit from our donations. We’re thankful for the support of our guests, team members, and the general public in joining our effort to bring joy to our community.”

The Foxwoods’ “Stuff The Bus” campaign officially kicks-off on Saturday, November 8th at 2:00 p.m. when members of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council, legendary comedian Carrot Top and baseball superstar David Ortiz come together to celebrate the start of the five-week campaign. Rodney Butler, Chairman; Crystal Whipple, Vice-Chairwoman; Marjorie Colebut-Jackson, Secretary; Jean Swift, Treasurer; Fatima Dames, councilor; Roy Colebut-Ingram, councilor; and Steven Colebut, councilor will be among the first to place donations on the Foxwoods bus.

Then, on Wednesday, December 18, and Thursday, December 19, the United Way will invite families to collect the donated items from designated pick-up locations including the Gemma E. Moran Food Center at 374 Broad Street New London, The Bulletin office located at 66 Franklin Street, Norwich and Killingly Public School office (formerly Killingly High School) located in Danielson at 79 Westfield Ave.

The “Stuff the Bus” campaign is just one of several philanthropic initiatives that Foxwoods has created to bring joy to local families this holiday season and throughout the year. Announcements will be forthcoming and will be available online at foxwoods.com in the coming weeks.
