Netronome Discusses Methods to Efficiently Scale Data Center Server Networking Performance

New solutions solve challenges as data centers move to 25, 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Netronome, the leading provider of data plane processing solutions for software-defined networks (SDN), today announced that they will discuss a processing architecture to address scalability issues facing cloud network providers at The Linley Tech Processor Conference on October 23, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, California.

“Large scale data center operators face new challenges as their next wave of deployments include higher power CPUs and network interconnects moving to 25, 40, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet,” said Bob Wheeler, principal analyst at The Linley Group. “A new class of intelligent offload solutions optimally addresses power, cost, throughput and programmability for future-proofed designs.”

Sundar Gopalan, senior director of product management at Netronome, will present, “Enabling Cloud Providers for 10/40/100GbE Network Processing Requirements,” during the Challenges of Implementing SDN and NFV track. This presentation will focus on the challenges faced by the cloud infrastructure providers and highlight architectural requirements of intelligent interface cards for delivering a scalable and high performance solution on standard servers.

“Cloud infrastructure is experiencing unprecedented growth in terms of new server deployments that require high network performance with heavier compute workloads. As a result network operators are looking at opportunities to re-architect their network and compute infrastructure,” said Jarrod Siket, senior vice president and general manager of marketing at Netronome. “Our purpose built flow processors, intelligent NIC cards, combined with software support for SDN and NFV designs provide an ideal solution for the operators to meet the challenges.”

The Linley Tech Processor Conference includes dual-track presentations on the latest processor chips, processor IP and other technology required to efficiently process data in embedded, enterprise, and cloud applications.
